Covid-19 Update

Due to technical issues, Alberta Health released minimal information in today's Covid-19 update.
 
A lower-than-usual number of tests were processed over the weekend, with 22,955 tests yielding 8,503 confirmations of Covid. This is positivity rate of about 37 per cent.
 
All zones saw solid recovery and a decrease in active case counts.
 
Provincial hospitalizations are at an all-time high, while ICU admissions are only one higher than reported Thursday.
 
Hospitalizations in the south zone increased by 12 and ICU admissions by one over the weekend.
 
Over the past three days, 41 deaths were related to Covid-19, including two in the south zone.

22,738 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Alberta in the past week, an average of 3,248 per day.
 
6,789 new cases reported Jan. 11 is the highest number of cases reported for a single day in the 5th wave and since the start of the pandemic.
